The Monster is Ducati's best-known naked bike, and the fifth generation changes what's underneath. The 2026 Ducati Monster, introduced on October 23, 2025, moves to Ducati's 890cc V2 with intake variable timing, adds a 5-inch TFT and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, and keeps a full suite of cornering rider aids. Ducati's U.S. site lists the base Monster from $13,295.
The short version
- Engine: new 890cc V2 with intake variable timing. Ducati lists 111 hp and 67 lb-ft for the base Monster.
- Versions and prices (U.S. site): Monster from $13,295 and Monster+ at $13,995. Prices vary by color. (Ducati's U.S. site also lists a Monster SP, but its page describes the older 937cc Testastretta engine, so it isn't part of this new-engine range.)
- Weight: 386 lb wet without fuel for the Monster and Monster+.
- Seat: 32.1 inches standard, with lower options available.
- Electronics: 5-inch TFT, Quick Shift 2.0, riding and power modes, and adjustable cornering ABS, traction, wheelie and engine-brake control.

The 890cc V2
The fifth-generation Monster uses Ducati's 890cc V2, a more compact twin with intake variable timing that adjusts the intake cam to widen the torque spread. It replaces the previous Monster's 937cc engine.
Ducati's U.S. page lists 111 hp and 67 lb-ft for the base bike. Those are maker figures.
Electronics
Even the base Monster gets a full electronics package:
- 5-inch TFT display
- Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 for clutchless up- and downshifts
- Riding modes and power modes
- Cornering ABS
- Traction control, wheelie control and engine-brake control, all adjustable
For a naked bike in this price range, that's a lot of rider assistance as standard.
Weight and fit
Ducati lists 386 pounds wet without fuel for the Monster and Monster+. "Without fuel" matters: add roughly 6 pounds per gallon to compare with bikes listed at full-tank curb weight.
The standard seat is 32.1 inches. Ducati offers lower seat options, but a lower seat doesn't make a 111-hp bike a beginner's bike. Try the setup you plan to ride.
Maintenance
Ducati specifies valve-clearance checks every 45,000 km (about 28,000 miles). That's a long interval for a Ducati, but it applies to valves only. Regular oil and other services are still on their own schedule, so get the full maintenance plan from your dealer.
Before you buy
- Pick your version and color. The $13,295 price is for the base Monster in one color; other colors and versions cost more.
- Add destination and fees to Ducati's listed price.
- Get an insurance quote. A 111-hp naked bike may price differently than a smaller standard. Your age, record, location and coverage choices matter too.
What we don't know
- Independent testing of the U.S. 2026 Monster
- Dealer stock in your area
Bottom line
The 2026 Ducati Monster moves to the 890cc V2 with intake variable timing and brings Quick Shift 2.0, a 5-inch TFT and adjustable cornering aids as standard. Ducati's U.S. site lists it from $13,295, with the Monster+ at $13,995.
