Honda's middleweight adventure bike picked up three meaningful upgrades for 2026. The 2026 Honda Transalp gets E-Clutch as standard, a new 2.5 mm aluminum skid plate and fully adjustable suspension front and rear. Honda's U.S. page lists the Transalp E-Clutch at $10,199 MSRP plus a $600 destination charge, $200 more than the $9,999 it shows for the 2025 Transalp.
American Honda detailed the changes in a March 24, 2026 feature release.
The short version
- E-Clutch, standard: start, stop and shift without the clutch lever; you still choose gears with your foot, and the lever still works.
- Skid plate: new 2.5 mm high-strength aluminum.
- Suspension: fully adjustable, with new compression and rebound adjusters front and rear.
- Seat: 33.7 inches standard, with an accessory seat 0.4 inch lower.
- Engine: 755cc parallel twin with throttle-by-wire.
- Price: $10,199 plus $600 destination on Honda's U.S. page.

E-Clutch off-road
Honda's E-Clutch works the clutch for you when you pull away, stop and shift. It's still a manual gearbox, and it isn't Honda's DCT automatic. You can grab the lever any time.
On an adventure bike, the appeal is specific. Honda's U.S. page says E-Clutch "minimizes chances of stalling in challenging terrain" and "enables clutchless up- and downshifts everywhere." Stalling on a steep, loose climb is an easy way to tip a tall bike over, so that's a practical benefit if it works as described.
Some experienced off-road riders like to slip the clutch by hand in technical sections. Because the lever still works, you can do that too.
Skid plate and suspension
The new skid plate is 2.5 mm high-strength aluminum. It's protection for the engine cases from rocks and ruts, not a guarantee against damage.
The suspension gets new compression and rebound damping adjusters at both ends, making it fully adjustable. Honda's U.S. page lists a 43 mm Showa SFF-CA inverted fork. Adjustability means you can tune for a passenger and luggage on the highway, then soften things for washboard gravel.
The rest of the package
From Honda's U.S. page and the March release:
- 755cc liquid-cooled Unicam parallel twin with throttle-by-wire
- Five ride modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel and a customizable mode
- 21-inch front, 18-inch rear spoked wheels
- 5-inch TFT with Honda RoadSync for turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music control (with a compatible phone and headset)
- Colors: White and Deep Pearl Gray
Fit
At 33.7 inches, the standard seat is tall, as adventure bikes tend to be. Honda offers an accessory seat that's 0.4 inch lower. If you're shorter, try both at the dealer, with your riding boots on.
Before you buy
- Price it out-the-door. $10,199 plus $600 destination, then tax, registration and fees.
- Compare with a 2025. If a dealer still has a 2025 Transalp, the gap shows what E-Clutch, the skid plate and adjustable suspension cost at that store.
- Plan for off-road use. If you'll ride trails, ask your insurer how they handle off-pavement riding and whether accessories like crash bars and luggage are covered.
What we don't know
- Independent off-road testing of the 2026 E-Clutch Transalp
- Dealer stock in your area
Bottom line
The 2026 Honda Transalp adds standard E-Clutch, a 2.5 mm aluminum skid plate and fully adjustable suspension to its 755cc ADV platform. Honda's U.S. page lists it at $10,199 plus $600 destination, with a 33.7-inch seat and a lower accessory seat.
