Can-Am’s 2027 Ryker Swaps the Base Twin for a 52-HP Triple

The entry-level Can-Am Ryker gets a major change for 2027. BRP said on August 17, 2026 that the base Ryker drops its 600cc twin for a 52-horsepower Rotax 900 ACE triple, and the whole Ryker line gets a stiffer chassis, a new display and LED headlights.

This isn't a new announcement. We're covering it now because pre-orders are open on Can-Am's U.S. site, and the Ryker change is the one most likely to matter to new riders and people shopping on a budget.

The short version

  • Base Ryker: now uses a 52-hp Rotax 900 ACE three-cylinder in place of the 600cc twin.
  • Ryker Sport and the new Special Series: 80 hp, per BRP.
  • Chassis: BRP says rigidity is up, steering is reinforced and the Vehicle Stability System (VSS) is recalibrated.
  • Cockpit: a new 5-inch color display, new handlebar controls and LED headlights.
  • Price: Can-Am's U.S. reveal page listed the 2027 Ryker "Starting at $9,999" when we checked on October 7.
  • Spyder and Canyon: new colors and a few equipment updates.
2027 Can-Am Ryker: base model 52 hp Rotax 900 ACE triple replaces the 600cc twin; Sport and Special Series 80 hp, Special Series is a one-year model; from $9,999 on Can-Am's U.S. reveal page Oct. 7, plus freight, dealer fees and taxes

The new base engine

The headline change is under the seat. For 2027, the base Ryker uses the Rotax 900 ACE triple rated at 52 hp. It replaces the 600cc twin that used to anchor the lineup.

Keep the trims straight:

  • Base Ryker: 52 hp.
  • Ryker Sport and Ryker Special Series: 80 hp.

That split matters if you're comparing prices or reading reviews.

Chassis and controls

BRP says the 2027 Ryker gets:

  • More chassis rigidity and reinforced steering.
  • A recalibrated Vehicle Stability System, the electronics that manage stability on three wheels.
  • Refined aerodynamics.
  • A 5-inch color display with new handlebar controls.
  • LED headlights.

BRP hasn't said how these changes feel on the road, and we haven't ridden the 2027 Ryker.

The one-year Special Series

BRP is adding a Ryker Special Series for 2027 only. Along with the 80-hp engine, it gets exclusive panels and graphics, Liquid Titanium wheels, premium suspension, a unique seat and an Akrapovič exhaust.

Spyder and Canyon updates

The same announcement covers smaller changes to Can-Am's larger three-wheelers:

  • Dolomite Grey paint on the Spyder RT Sea-to-Sky and Spyder F3 Limited Special Series.
  • Sandstone paint on the Canyon Redrock.
  • A Liquid Titanium frame on the Spyder F3-S.
  • Tire pressure monitoring on the Spyder RT Sea-to-Sky.

BRP's GO! navigation works only on models with the 10.25-inch display. It isn't part of the Ryker's new 5-inch screen.

Price and ordering

Can-Am's U.S. reveal page showed the 2027 Ryker "Starting at $9,999" with pre-orders open when we checked on October 7. That's a starting price, so expect the Sport and Special Series to cost more, plus freight, dealer fees and taxes. Check with a dealer for current pricing and when bikes will actually arrive.

If you're shopping for a Ryker

  1. Match the trim to the engine. Only the Sport and Special Series get 80 hp.
  2. Ask about delivery timing as well as price.
  3. Check your license rules. Three-wheeler licensing varies by state, so confirm what your state requires.
  4. Get an insurance quote before you buy. Engine size and horsepower can affect your rate, so quote the exact 2027 trim.

What we don't know yet

  • U.S. prices for each trim beyond the starting price.
  • How the changes ride, from independent testing.

Bottom line

The 2027 Can-Am Ryker trades its base 600cc twin for a 52-hp Rotax 900 ACE triple and adds a stiffer chassis, a new 5-inch display and LED lights, with an 80-hp Sport and a one-year Special Series above it. With a $9,999 starting price on Can-Am's U.S. site, it's worth a look for new three-wheel riders, as long as you confirm the trim and delivery date with your dealer.
