Cardo Venture Puts Mesh Intercom Inside an Off-Road Helmet

Most off-road riders who want to talk on the trail clamp an intercom to the side of their helmet. Cardo's Venture takes a different route: it is an off-road helmet with the mesh intercom and JBL speakers built in from the start. Cardo's U.S. store lists it at $799.95.

This isn't a brand-new launch. Cardo's public U.S. catalog shows the product was published on August 6, 2026, and Cardo posted Venture-specific fit guidance on August 30. We're covering it now because it is listed and in stock on Cardo's U.S. store, and it's a different idea from the clip-on units most riders know.

The short version

  • What it is: an off-road helmet with Cardo's mesh intercom and JBL sound built into the shell.
  • Price: $799.95 on Cardo's U.S. store, with sizes XS through XXL marked available when we checked on October 7, 2026.
  • Protection Cardo lists: a Kevlar and fiberglass composite shell in three shell sizes, four-density foam and Leatt 360° Turbine Technology.
  • Standards: Cardo says it meets ECE 22.06 and DOT.
  • Intercom: second-generation DMC mesh for up to 31 riders and up to about 1 mile (1.6 km) of range, per Cardo.
  • Electronics: described as removable, serviceable and upgradable.

What "integrated" changes

With a clip-on intercom, the helmet and the communicator are two separate products. You mount a cradle, run the speakers and microphone inside the liner, and swap or move the unit when you change helmets.

On the Venture, Cardo designed the helmet and the communication system together. The speakers, microphone and controls are part of the helmet, so there's no external unit hanging off the side. Cardo describes the electronics as removable, serviceable and upgradable, which matters because a helmet and its electronics may not wear out on the same schedule.

The tradeoff is that the intercom goes where the helmet goes. If you already own a Cardo or another brand's unit you like, the Venture asks you to buy into a new helmet rather than move your current communicator.

The helmet side

Cardo lists these protective features:

  • Composite shell of Kevlar and fiberglass, made in three shell sizes across the range.
  • Four-density impact foam.
  • Leatt 360° Turbine Technology.
  • Emergency-release cheek pads, which are designed to help first responders remove a helmet more safely.
  • Double D-ring closure.
  • PRO-FIT cheek pads and an IONIC+ antimicrobial liner, plus ventilation.

Cardo says the Venture meets ECE 22.06 and DOT standards. Those are Cardo's statements. DOT certification is self-certified by manufacturers in the U.S., and we haven't seen independent crash testing that compares the Venture with other off-road helmets. Nothing here shows it prevents any specific injury.

The communication side

Cardo lists the following for the built-in system:

  • 40 mm JBL speakers.
  • Second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) for up to 31 riders, with range of up to 1.6 km (about 1 mile).
  • Voice operation for hands-free commands.
  • IP67 water and dust resistance for the communication system.
  • Live Bluetooth intercom with other brands' units.
  • Over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Range and sound quality depend on terrain, trees, group spacing and wind, so treat the range figure as a best case. Off-road groups that spread out on tight, wooded trails may see less.

Cardo calls the Venture a world first for this kind of integration. That's Cardo's claim; we haven't independently checked every competing helmet.

Fit and sizing

Cardo's August 30 fit guide gives head measurements from XS (53–54 cm) up to XXL (63–64 cm). Measure around your head just above the eyebrows and compare that with the chart before you order. An off-road helmet should feel snug with no pressure points, and fit varies by head shape as well as size.

Warranty

Cardo advertises "up to 5 years" of warranty. The terms behind that phrase weren't spelled out where we looked, so ask Cardo what is covered, for how long and whether registration is required before you count on it.

If you're thinking about one

  1. Measure your head and check Cardo's size chart before ordering.
  2. Ask about warranty terms, especially for the electronics.
  3. Check group compatibility. If your riding partners use older or different-brand intercoms, confirm how they'll connect.
  4. Think about insurance. A $799.95 helmet with built-in electronics is worth listing if your policy covers riding gear. Ask your insurer what gear coverage includes and what the limit is.

What we don't know yet

  • Independent crash or comfort testing for the Venture.
  • Real-world battery life and range from riders, not just Cardo's figures.
  • Full warranty conditions.

Bottom line

The Cardo Venture puts mesh intercom and JBL audio inside an off-road helmet rather than on it, at $799.95. It's a fit for riders who want one tidy system and are ready to replace their helmet anyway. If you already own a communicator you like, a clip-on unit on your current helmet is still the simpler path.
