Triumph Adds TXP-20 and TXP-24 Electric Dirt Bikes in North America

Triumph has added two larger electric off-road motorcycles to its North American TXP range. Announced September 22, the TXP-20 starts at $3,495 on Triumph’s U.S. site and the TXP-24 starts at $3,995. Both are powered by OSET technology and can be ordered through selected Triumph dealers.

Triumph describes both as off-road motorcycles for private land or designated riding areas where permission is granted.

Triumph’s age ranges help narrow the choice, but the rider still needs to fit the bike, have somewhere to ride it and have an adult who can set its controls.

Triumph expands the TXP line in North America

The September 22 Triumph announcement adds the TXP-20 and TXP-24 above the existing TXP-12 and TXP-16. Triumph acquired electric trials-bike company OSET in 2022; the TXP name now covers four sizes, from introductory youth bikes through the larger TXP-24.

Triumph says the range can be ordered through selected dealers for delivery before Christmas. If timing matters, ask a local dealer when the model and setup you want could arrive and get the full pickup price in writing before leaving a deposit.

TXP-20 and TXP-24: price, fit and power

The U.S. TXP-20 page lists a 1.6 kW, 58 V brushless motor, a 58 V, 19.5 Ah removable battery and a 133.4-pound maximum rider weight.

Triumph describes the bike for ages 7–10. Its listed seat height changes with configuration: 20.67 inches in Trials setup and 27.56 inches in Xplore setup.

The U.S. TXP-24 page lists a 2.0 kW, 58 V motor, the same battery voltage and capacity, and a 198.4-pound maximum rider weight.

Triumph describes it for ages 11 and up. Its stated seat heights are 25 inches in Trials setup and 31.89 inches in Xplore setup.

Ask whether a dealer has the model and setup available to try. If so, bring the rider in the boots and protective gear they will wear, because those items affect how the bike fits.

Trying it lets the rider check bar and control reach and footing at a stop, while the supervising adult can feel how manageable the bike is with the motor off.

If the rider cannot reach the brakes comfortably or hold the bike steady, the listed age range does not make it a good fit.

An adult considering the TXP-24 should also check its 198.4-pound maximum rider weight and whether there is enough room to ride it comfortably in the intended setup.

Triumph lists top speeds of up to 24 mph for the TXP-20 and up to 27 mph for the TXP-24, depending on configuration and settings. The PIN-locked controls let an adult limit speed; ask the dealer to show how they work before a new rider uses the bike.

The displayed $3,495 and $3,995 figures are starting prices on the U.S. product pages. Ask the selling dealer for the full out-the-door amount, including freight, setup, tax and any optional equipment.

Set the controls before every ride

Triumph gives parents a PIN-locked control system for power, throttle response and maximum speed. The product pages say power can be adjusted from 25% to 100%.

A magnetic wrist lanyard cuts motor power if the rider separates from the bike, and a two-stage activation process is designed to reduce accidental starts.

Before the first ride, an adult should choose gentle settings and watch the rider handle starts, stops and turns on level ground. Stay nearby as the rider moves to more difficult terrain.

Reset the controls when the bike changes hands, especially if a younger sibling will ride after an older one.

Triumph’s legal and safety instructions say only adults should change speed, power and throttle settings. They also call for a helmet, gloves, sturdy boots, protective clothing and eye protection, and they limit the motorcycle to one rider with no passenger.

For riders under 18, a parent or guardian remains responsible for supervision.

Before each ride, an adult can run through four checks with the rider:

1. Confirm the place: Is this private land or a designated off-road area, and do you have permission to ride there?
2. Check the rider and bike: Does the machine fit today, and are tires, brakes and the lanyard in working order?
3. Set the power: Enter the adult PIN, confirm the intended speed and throttle response, and keep the first lap slow.
4. Review the stop: The rider should know how to stop normally and what the lanyard does if they come off the bike.

Xplore and Trials: the two TXP configurations

Each TXP-20 and TXP-24 can be set up in either of two ways:

1. Xplore — seated off-road riding: Fit the removable seat and front mudguard. This is the taller setup shown in Triumph’s seat-height figures.
2. Trials — standing practice: Remove the seat and front mudguard so the rider can stand on the footpegs for trials-style obstacles. Triumph lists a lower setup height for this configuration.

Both setups remain off-road only.

Before taking either bike to a public off-highway area, check that land manager’s access, registration, age and equipment rules.

Battery charging, runtime and dealer support

Both new U.S. product pages list a 58 V, 19.5 Ah lithium-ion battery and a 140-minute 0–100% charging time. The pack is removable without tools.

Triumph does not list an expected ride time alongside those charging figures. If you plan longer sessions, ask the dealer what runtime to expect for your riding conditions and whether a second battery is available.

Triumph instructs owners to use the supplied charger in a dry, ventilated indoor location and not to charge unattended or overnight. The product pages also warn against jet-washing or submerging the bike.

Before placing an order, ask the dealer to identify the exact configuration and confirm:

• Delivered price and date: The written total, deposit terms and expected arrival for your location.
• Fit: Which setup the rider will actually use and whether both positions can be tried safely.
• Battery support: Replacement battery and charger availability, charging instructions and warranty terms.
• Service: Who handles brake, electrical and control-system service locally.
• Protection: Ask your insurer whether your policy addresses theft, transport or off-road liability for this bike and how you plan to use it.
