Ducati’s Diavel V4 RS Swaps in the Desmosedici Stradale V4 at $39,995

Ducati's power cruiser now has a superbike engine. The Diavel V4 RS, announced on September 12, 2025, replaces the regular Diavel V4's 1,158cc Granturismo engine with the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale and a dry clutch, and adds Öhlins suspension, forged wheels and carbon parts. Ducati's U.S. site lists it from $39,995.

A different engine

The standard Diavel V4 uses Ducati's V4 Granturismo, a 1,158cc engine built for smooth torque and long service intervals. The RS swaps in the Desmosedici Stradale, the 1,103cc superbike-derived V4, with a dry clutch.

That changes more than the sound. The Stradale is a more race-bred engine, so service requirements differ. Ask your dealer for the RS's maintenance schedule rather than assuming the Granturismo intervals apply.

Equipment

Ducati lists:

  • Öhlins suspension
  • Forged aluminum wheels
  • Carbon-fiber components specific to the RS
  • A lithium-ion battery to save weight

Electronics include a Race riding mode, revised launch control and configurable traction and wheelie control. Those are rider aids, not guarantees.

Numbered, not a fixed run

Ducati says the Diavel V4 RS is produced in a numbered series. It hasn't published a total production count, so don't assume it's limited to a specific number.

Price and weight

Ducati's U.S. page lists the RS from $39,995. Add destination, taxes and dealer fees. Its 485 lb weight is wet without fuel; add fuel weight when comparing with bikes listed at full-tank curb weight.

For a $40,000 bike with carbon parts, ask your insurer about agreed value coverage and how custom and carbon components would be valued after a loss.

What we don't know

  • Total production for the numbered series
  • Dealer stock in your area
  • Independent testing of the U.S. bike

Bottom line

The Ducati Diavel V4 RS puts the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale and a dry clutch in Ducati's power cruiser, with Öhlins, forged wheels and 182 hp listed. Ducati's U.S. site prices it from $39,995.
